And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord . . . and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Noah had just come through the flood. He had believed God when He told him that judgment was coming. He had built the ark and with his family had come through God’s judgment. Now he looks around at the ark lying on the side of the mountain and builds an altar to give an offering to God. As we meet together today around the Lord Jesus and look back to the cross at Calvary, we too can give an offering to God. Ours is the offering of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.
