Lip Service Unavailing

The mere profession of the Christian faith will not save: “Not everyone that saith unto Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 7:2121Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 7:21)). Lip service will not avail. There must be subjection to the authority of Christ’s words — absolute bowing to Him as the alone Savior and hope of God’s people. To build on Him is to build on the Rock that can never be moved. Whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed.
