Luke, the beloved physician.
Luke wrote two New Testament books. He was a doctor. He is mentioned by name only three times in the New Testament. He followed the Apostle Paul in his travels and worked with him. He records the life of the Lord Jesus in his gospel and the effects of Christianity on the world in the book of the Acts. Other workers forsook Paul but Luke remained. He was a true disciple of the Lord but is never labeled as one in the Gospels. His writings tell about Jesus and others, but Luke remains hidden. A true servant never tries to be in the forefront but promotes the glories of the Lord.
