May I Be Sure?

AY I be sure, Mamma?” said Kitty, as the good news of God’s free love was read to her, and she was told that her sins could be forgiven.

“Yes, clear one, you may.”

“But how, Mamma?”

“Simply by believing what God has said for God always keeps His promise.” “And what has God said?”

“He that believeth on the Son, hath everlasting life.” John 3:36³⁶He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. (John 3:36).

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13¹³These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. (1 John 5:13).
