TIT 3:4-5⁴But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, ⁵Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (Titus 3:4‑5)

After that the kindness and love of God our Savior . . . appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.

Many of us think that we are pretty good, we do good works, we work for God. But our salvation does not depend on what we do. It depends SOLELY on God. We get to heaven simply because God chose to make us fit for heaven. He showed MERCY. Why did He choose you? Because in love He showed mercy to you. Do you realize that of all the millions of people who will be in heaven, every one will have gotten there exactly the same way? Through God’s mercy. That’s a VERY humbling thought. Think about it!
