One may well be astonished at men quoting
1 Cor. 14:40
40
Let all things be done decently and in order. (1 Corinthians 14:40)
for any order which is
not
that of the chapter, nor of scripture at all. They avail themselves of the authority of God's word for their own order whatever it be, while trampling under foot the only order which divine revelation sanctions, or which was intended to be established for God's assembly.
