164. O Jesus Christ, Most Holy

7,6.
by C.G. Clemens
1
O Jesus Christ, most holy —

Head of the church, Thy bride,

In us each day more fully

Thy name be magnified!

Oh may, in each believer,

Thy love its power display,

And none among us ever

From Thee, our Shepherd, stray!
“For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens.” (Hebrews 7:26)
“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.” (Colossians 1:18)
“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” (Revelation 21:2)
