(1) Town in Benjamin (Josh. 18:23²³And Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah, (Joshua 18:23); 1 Sam. 13:17¹⁷And the spoilers came out of the camp of the Philistines in three companies: one company turned unto the way that leadeth to Ophrah, unto the land of Shual: (1 Samuel 13:17)). (2) Native place of Gideon (Judg. 6:11,24¹¹And there came an angel of the Lord, and sat under an oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained unto Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon threshed wheat by the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites. (Judges 6:11)
