We see in verse 1 That Paul loved the saints of God. He wanted them to be happy Christians, who loved the Lord Jesus. Euodias and Syntyche were two women who had helped Paul with gospel outreach. These two women had disagreements. Paul urged them to change their minds to agree with the Word of God. So Paul encourages them to moderation, which is our willingness to give up our own way to follow the Lord.
Don’t worry! Share your problems, your joy and your requests with Jesus. Thank God in every situation, and the peace of God will keep you. We need to control our thoughts. If a believer, who is following the Lord, has a bad thought come into his mind, he can chase it away by thinking good things that are true, honest, just and pure.
Paul learned to be content at all times, both on good days and on bad days, whether he had food to eat or nothing to eat. Paul thanks the Philippian Christians for their generous gift. They had given him money to help with his expenses while he preached the gospel and taught the Word of God. Paul teaches us to give generously. You should plan to give as much money to the Lord as you possibly can, and if you give until it hurts, God promises He will supply all that you need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
