It is the Lord's mind that His children should now, even in this world of sorrow and death, be happy. He has not only created us in Christ Jesus, but we are blessed with all spiritual blessings in Him, and the Holy Spirit says,
The source of our happiness then is the Lord Himself; and the secret of happiness is believing on Him whom we see not (1 Pet. 1:88Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: (1 Peter 1:8)).
The measure of happiness we are entitled to enjoy is as unlimited and boundless as glory itself-"joy unspeakable and full of glory."
Jesus desired that we might have His joy fulfilled in ourselves, and Scripture is written that our "joy might be full" (John 15:1111These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. (John 15:11)).
