Hymn Appendix #68.
It is not known whether Richard Jukes is related to Andrew or not. We shall let his hymn speak for itself:
“By faith I see the Savior dying
On the tree;
To ruined sinners He is crying-
‘Look to Me’.
He bids the guilty now draw neat.
Hark! hark! His precious words I hear-
So soft, so sweet, they banish fear, -
‘Mercy’s free’.”
This reminds us of those words in
Titus 3:4-5
4
But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5
Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; (Titus 3:4‑5)
, “But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us.”
