the simile of the woman and her husband (Ver. 2, 3), it is
the husband who dies—not
the woman. In our case
we die—not the law. "
We are dead to the law by the body of Christ." The law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, &c., as we read in
1 Tim. 1:9

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, (1 Timothy 1:9)
.
Observe, the law never dies, it is still obligatory, and in force, as to those who are still in the flesh.
