“IT is very important for us to bear in mind, that God has confided to us the glory or Jesus. He had no need of us; for what can we do? It is He Who works in us, and we have but to let Him act. It is His will, by the presence of the Holy Spirit... to be glorified in us.
If we were more simple and obedient, and presented things as the Holy Ghost gives them to us, the result would be better. But we often substitute our human wisdom for the commands of God, forgetting that the things most simply said produce the greatest effect. Peter said to the Jews, “You killed the Prince of Life”! That is what you did. On the part of God Who has raised Him, that is what I have to tell you (Acts 3:1515And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. (Acts 3:15)).
In like simplicity, and without hesitation, we ought to speak to every one according to his state before God. If I feel he is lost, I tell him so simply. “The most simple addresses are the best and most blessed.”
