(From a letter written by a youth recently converted).
“I AM still learning that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwelleth no good thing.” I don’t think I know yet, for whenever I do something which I ought not, I am disappointed in myself! This would show that I still expect that there is some good in me, or I should not be disappointed.
The other day I failed again, and was thinking how wonderful it was that God should care for me who am always doing wrong. Just as I was thinking why it was, all of a sudden a thought came— “For His great love wherewith He loved us.” I don’t know where it is, but it just came. Would you say this was one of the “songs of deliverance” that “compass” us? (Psa. 32:77Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. (Psalm 32:7)).
