Every man in the world is going to be “taken alive” by someone; this is evident from two passages of scripture. The Greek word
zogreo,
which means “to take alive,” is used twice in the New Testament: First in
Luke 5:10

And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men. (Luke 5:10)
, where the Lord proposes that those who follow Him should “take men alive” for Himself; and again in
2 Timothy 2:26

And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. (2 Timothy 2:26)
, where we are told that some are “taken alive” by the Devil at his will.
