As the opposition to the early Church by the Jews grew more open, so did the signs and wonders by which God confirmed the truth and reality of the body of Christ, the assembly. The miracle which followed caused real wonder and amazement in the people of Jerusalem. The apostles used this occasion to preach the gospel once again to those who were gathered there, and it is not long before the Jewish leaders seek to stop the message.
