25. And the estimate just referred to is thus especially connected with the Jew under Moses' law. Closely connected with this, as contrasted with it, is Heb. 6:6,6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. This epistle was written to Jews, and the apostle is saying what it is for a Jew who has once recognized and acted upon what he says of himself in Col. 2:14,14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (Colossians 2:14) to turn back from Him that was upon the cross to Moses and his ordinances.
