The Disease of Sin

Gospel—T. Sester
DISCLAIMER: The following has been auto-transcribed. We hope it will help you to find the section of this audio file you are looking for.
Welcome to the Gospel meeting. I would start by singing a hymn here.
Oh Christ me, my soul hath found and found in me alone the peace, the joy I sought so long, the bliss till now unknown #19 now none but Christ can satisfy none other name. For me there's love and life, life and lasting joy. Lord Jesus found in thee. I sighed for rest and happiness.
I yearn for them, not thee, But while I passed my Savior by his love laid hold on me. I tried the broken cisterns, Lord, but all the waters failed. Even as I stooped to drink, they fled and mocked me as I will. The pleasures lost I sadly mourn, but never wept for thee, till grace the sightless eyes received Thy loveliness to see.
We sing #19.
Oh Christ and the.
All right, so I'm sorry, I can't hold on to your account. Yeah. OK. Bye. Bye. Bye. Bye. Can you please?
And dialogue if you.
Uh.
Nsnoise.
00:05:04
I'd like to sing one more song #13 Man of Sorrows, what a name for the Son of God who came, ruined the sinners to reclaim. Hallelujah, what a Savior, bearing shame and scoffing, rude in my place, condemned He stood, sealed my pardon with his blood. Hallelujah, what a Savior, Guilty, vile and helpless we.
Spotless Lamb of God, was he full atonement? Can it be? Hallelujah, what a savior.
Man of Sorrows, what a name. What is?
God doing.
And.
Playing all the way out of the world.
We ask Lord Jesus for help tonight.
Our godfather, we thank thee for.
Another opportunity to sound force the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This morning we lifted him up to the Our Godfather and now we present him to the center tonight.
We pray that Christ would be spoken well of tonight. We pray for help for the speaker in Jesus name, Amen.
I'd like to open with a verse First Timothy.
First Timothy, chapter 2.
The book that I hold here is the Word of God. It's not what I have to say tonight. I'm not the authority, but the word of God is the authority.
So we're gonna be sticking to the Word of God tonight.
First Timothy 2.
Two.
And verse 3.
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who will have all men to be saved.
Who will have all men to be saved?
You know, I'm humbled to admit that I don't love people like I should when I see a man on the side of the road.
Sometimes I don't feel sorry for that man, but you know that's not the love the Lord Jesus has, it says right here.
Who would have all men to be saved?
That includes everyone. Every boy, every girl, every man, every woman. No matter what you've ever done, no matter what you've ever thought.
Verse 6. Verse 5. Pardon me, for there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus.
You know tonight.
It's just like last night. Last night our brother said we're gonna talk about two people.
Was gone.
And there's man, and there's the mediator between God and man, and it's the Lord Jesus.
What is your condition before God?
Where do you stand before God tonight?
00:10:05
Are you guilty?
Before God tonight.
I'd like to look at a verse in Job. We had Job this afternoon. Job chapter 41.
Job was a righteous man, but he had to do what?
Many of us need to do.
Jove had pride. I have pride.
Even if you're saved tonight, this verse applies.
And job.
40 chapter 40 and verse four. We'll start with three. Then Jobe answered the Lord and said, behold, I am vile.
You know there's not anything that God could find good with you.
Without the work of His Son on Calvary's cross and redeeming you back to God Himself.
There's not anything.
Says all of our righteousness are filthy rags. There's nothing that we have to present to God. We have cannot give them glory. We've taken glory away from Him.
You know tonight.
I was thinking about.
The Lord Jesus as that one who came to heal the broken hearted.
He came to heal.
You know, there's a lot of pain in this room. There's a lot of pain in this world.
You don't have to live very long before you realize there's pain and there's suffering and there's sorrow. You know that was life. The Lord Jesus, Man of Sorrows, what a name for the Son of God who came.
You know from the start he wasn't wanted in this world. You know, this world is saying with sin.
It's seen with a blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
There's nothing they can do. There's nothing people can do.
They won't. If they won't accept the blood of the Lord Jesus and the blessing on Calvary's cross and the work that was done, there's no other way that their sins can be cured, that their disease of sin can be cured. Tonight. Sin is like a disease the Bible talks about.
And the blood of the Lord Jesus is the only cure.
Tonight can you come and be healed tonight?
Can you come and be healed, can be healed of your sin sick soul tonight? Well, look at Isaiah chapter one and it gives us a very, very distinct picture of what we're like in our sins.
And tonight?
The only way you can be saved is to be a center. The only way I got saved because I had to take my place as a guilty Sinner before God. And if you're gonna get saved tonight, you gotta, you gotta take your place in the center. You have to take your place in Isaiah chapter one, and you have to read this description and you have to agree with God what he says about you.
Verse five of chapter one. Why should you be stricken anymore? He'll revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, the whole heart faint from the sole of the foot, even under the head. There is no soundness in it but wounds and bruises and putrefined sores. They have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
Tonight, if you don't let the Lord Jesus heal you, there's nothing can be done for you. You can try all the treatments that man's got to offer tonight, and men are out there trying everything.
It doesn't matter how much pain comes in their life.
Says, Oh Christ, and thee my soul hath found.
Was found in the alone the peace, the joy I saw so long. You're not gonna find peace, you're not gonna find joy until you just rest in the Lord Jesus, you know.
We'll see in a man naming We're gonna look at in a minute.
00:15:00
He was a man. I want to think of a man of control, a great man.
You know you're not in control tonight. Neiman had to see that. I wanna turn to Isaiah 55 while we're still there.
Isaiah 55 and verse one says, Ho everyone that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, he that hath no money come ye by.
And eat ye come buy wine and milk, without money, without price.
They're gonna see the name and have lots of money.
Wouldn't buy them what he needed.
Wherefore do you spend money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which satisfies not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat that which is good, and let your soul delight itself, and fatness incline your ear, and come unto me. Hear, and your soul shall live.
The Lord Jesus tonight wants to give you life, and He wants to give it to you more abundantly.
You know Satan wants to take life away from you. He's a murderer. He's a thief. He wants to take your happiness away.
He's a taker.
But the Lord Jesus is a giver. God is a giving God. He gave. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son.
The Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.
Tonight you have to make a choice. Are you gonna stay in your sins and not accept the offer?
That God offers you tonight the gift of his Son, the Lord Jesus. The work has been done.
The Lord Jesus on the cross said it is finished, the work has been done. Tonight. All you have to do is believe. All you have to do is believe. He will give you the faith to believe. Tonight will you come to the Lord Jesus?
Verse chapter 55, Verse 8. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, and so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Tonight, your thoughts don't matter. Tonight, my thoughts don't matter tonight.
In Hebrews 4 and verse 12 it says.
For the Word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joint and marrow, and as a discerner of the thought and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight, but all things are naked and opened under the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. You know there's something, There's a God-given.
Sole that you have. It's a never dine sole.
Every man, woman and child knows that they must meet their creator God in the beginning God.
God treated you in his own likeness.
But through that sinful nature.
Our parents, Adam and Eve, they fell and we were born lost. You don't have to do anything to be lost. You were born lost. All we like sheep have gone astray. Who turned everyone his own way.
You are lost tonight. If you don't have Christ, you're lost. There's no middle ground. There's heaven.
And there's hell, there's it's black and white. You're either saved or you're lost tonight. You know, this seems extreme to the world, this extreme, but this is what the word of God teaches. You're either saved or you're lost. You can't walk out of this room and kind of believe.
I talked to a person and I asked.
If a man was saved and they said well.
Umm, I said, is he a Christian? Well, you know, Uh, yeah, but not in the conventional sense, You mean. I mean, he's not saved, he's just a Christian, no.
You are either saved or you're lost. There is no middle ground. That is what the Bible teaches. You know when we turn to 2nd Kings here, let's read about Naman.
No one had to tell Naman he was a leper. No one had to tell him he knew he was sent in his sins. He knew he had a disease. He knew he needed to be healed. Tonight. If you're in your sins, the Spirit of God is weighing down on your heart, weighing on your conscience, and you'll feel the burden of your sin. You're dead. You're dead in trespasses and sins tonight. Without Christ, you're dead.
00:20:22
In the Spirit of God would make you feel the weight of your sins tonight. That was the prayer in that room back there that you'd feel the weight of your sins and you wouldn't be able to stand being unsaved tonight. You'd be scared to walk out those doors unsaved tonight.
I shudder to take this gospel meeting tonight.
I've never felt that the coming of the Lord Jesus is closer.
This world, it's hard to believe it could be more messed up than it already is.
Because they don't have Christ. You think something's going to work without Christ? No.
Until you find Christ, you're not gonna have peace. No peace.
Second Kings 5 and verse one. Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the Lord had given deliverance unto Syria.
He was a also a mighty man in valor, but he was a leper.
Wow.
You might be a great dad, you might be a great mom, you might be a great kid. But if you're a Sinner?
Go on your way to hell.
Leprosy will kill you.
It was an incurable disease when this was written.
The pictures then.
Verse two. And the Syrians had gone out by the companies in a Broadway captive by the land of Israel, a little maid. And she waited on Neiman's wife. And she said unto her mistress, Would God my Lord, were with the prophet, that is, in Samaria, for he would recover him of his leprosy. And one went in and told his Lord, saying thus and thus, that the maid, that is, of the land of Israel.
Verse five And the king of Israel, Syria, said, Go to and go, and I will send a letter unto the king of Israel. And he departed and took with him 10 talents of silver, and 6000 pieces of gold, and 10 changes arraignment.
It's not gonna do it, my friend. All of your righteousness are still direct my.
My God does not need any money. He owns the cattle on 1000 Hills. There's not anything.
He holds your life in His hands, He keeps your heart beating. He's breathed the whole world into existence. He doesn't need anything from you other than glory to His Son.
Honor.
He wants to redeem you, He wants to save you, He wants to take you from that horrible pit, and he wants to set you on the miry clay. And he can do that because he's holy.
And he made the Lord Jesus to be sin for me.
That's how we can do that. He can't just close his eyes to my sins. No, it says in 2nd Corinthians 5 and verse 21, we look at that verse. He has made him.
To be sin.
For us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. For he God hath made him, Jesus, to be sin. For us who knew no sin, Jesus, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Jesus, that's what that means. Can you fathom that? I can't fathom that God made Jesus.
To be sin on that cross for three hours from me, all my sins.
You know, I'd be so embarrassed if you could see everything I've ever done, ever thought, and it was on a screen behind here.
Can you think of all your sins? All the sins?
The sacrifice of the Lord Jesus, that perfect, holy, spotless Lamb of God, was sufficient to pay for all those sins.
That.
Is the only sacrifice. My friend. Christ is not just a savior for sinners, He's the only savior for sinners. He was the only man that has ever walked this world. Perfect, holy, spotless Lamb of God, the only man.
00:25:17
No, it's not gonna be money.
Verse six. He brought the letter to the king. King didn't have real good advice. Verse 7.
He ran his clothes, and he says, Am I God to kill, and to make alive? Verse seven. This man to send unto me to recover a man of his leprosy? Verse 8. And it was so when Elijah the man of God, had heard that the king of Israel had run his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? Let him come to me, and he shall know that there's a prophet in Israel. Verse 9. So Naaman came with his forces and with his chariot, and stood at the door of the House of Elijah.
And a license sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan 7 times, and thy flesh shall come unto thee, and thou shalt be clean.
Wash and be clean.
But Naiman was Roth and went away and said, behold, I thought, you see, he's thinking again, What does God say? Put your thoughts aside. Listen to what God has to say. The man of God here, what did he say?
He said to wash and be clean.
But he thinks in verse 12 art not Abana and far far rivers of Damascus better than all the waters may not washing them and be clean? The answer is no Your thoughts?
Get a lame sign.
Verse 13 and the servant came near, pardon me, verse into verse 12. So he turned and went away in a rage. Is that your reaction tonight? Is that your reaction to the gospel? It's just gonna make you mad. You know, they just always say the same thing at these conferences. You gotta get saved and there's no other way to get saved. And you know, it's really close minded. It's what the Word of God says. But you know, this servant is a picture of the Spirit of God.
And the Spirit of God is working in this room tonight to make, you know to breathe light.
Into your dead, as you're dead and your trespasses and sins, and to make you know that you have a burden of sin upon you. You know, if we had a dead man, you could pile as much weight on him as possible. He wouldn't feel it tonight. Maybe you have never felt the weight of your sins until tonight.
I can't imagine it.
Maybe you're in this room and you've never felt like you're a Sinner.
May the Spirit of God.
Breathe life into you, that you feel the burden of your sins and you wanna come to the cross and be healed tonight.
He has to lay aside his pride.
Verse 14.
10 or 13 wash and be cleaned. Then he went down and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the Saint of the man of God, and his flesh came again as a little child, and he was clean.
Tonight.
Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. That's not my words. When God tells you he will do something, he will do it. Just let God be true and every man a liar. We turn back one page. There's a woman, it's a great woman here says.
Chapter 4.
And verse.
18.
There's a woman here and, uh, I just wanna pick a few, uh.
Words here from this dialogue that she has here with the Prophet. Verse 18 When the child was grown, it fell on a day that he went out to his father, to the reapers. She prayed for a child in verse 19. And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to the lad, Carry him to his mother. And we had taken him and brought him to his mother. He sat on her knees till noon, and then died. There's a child that died.
It's a very sad scene right here, but you know, this woman has faith. A little different than the story we just read about Naman and she brings her son.
00:30:12
And what does she do?
Verse 26.
Is going to run out and meet her? Run now, I pray thee to meet her and say unto her, Is it well with thee? Is it well with thy husband? Is it well with a child? And she answered, It is well tonight. Is it well with you? Can you say it is well with my soul? Can you say that you can't say that if there's sins are not washed away tonight?
You know there's a time, there is a time, there will be a time in your life where you cannot do it by yourself.
Is the night gonna be that night? There's gonna be a time. There's a time and everyone's life when you can't do it on your own.
Can't do it. Andrew believers too. You cannot do it on your own.
There's a time in everyone's life when you realize you cannot do it by yourself.
Wanna look?
Matthew.
Let's look at March 1St here.
Mark chapter 6.
I'm sorry, turn to the wrong place here. It's uh.
Luke chapter, uh, eight. I'm sorry.
Luke chapter 8 and verse 41.
Here's someone else that may be healed.
In verse 41 and behold, there came a man named Jarius, and he was a ruler of the synagogue, and he fell down at Jesus feet and besought him that he would come into his house.
For he had only one daughter, about 12 years of age, and she lay a dime. But as he went, the people thronged him tonight. Is there a child in this room? Maybe someone around 12 years old?
You know, kids may be healed too. You gotta be healed of your sins.
You know, as innocent as these little babies look, we're all born sin and we're shaping an iniquity. That's what the word of God says.
Maybe there's a child tonight and you know you're listening for the first time and you're realizing that you're a Sinner tonight. You can just come to the Cross of Calvary to be saved.
Then if we skip down.
1St 49 Well, yet spake there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter's dead trouble not the Master. But when Jesus heard it, he answered and said, Fear not, believe only, and she shall be made whole.
Tonight, all you have to do is only believe.
There's nothing for you to do but believe.
Are you too stubborn to believe tonight? Is it too easy?
I hope that's not the case. Verse 41, I'm sorry, uh, verse 43 we read of another woman and it says a woman having an issue of blood 12 years which had spent all her living upon physicians. Neither could be healed of any.
As an older person.
You know, tonight, if you're in this room and you were here last night, you're still on stage. You're gospel hard.
You are gospel heart. I had a man tell me once that he enjoyed.
Hearing the Gospel and he was an agnostic.
I hope that's not the case with anyone in this room tonight.
You know I'm not here to put doubts in your mind.
Because if you're saved.
00:35:01
Once you're always saved, you're in the Father's hand.
You're in Jesus hand. I and my father are one.
But if you have never accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you are lost and you're on your way to hell. And you're in a very scary spot tonight.
This lady knew she had a need. There's no fooling with this lady. She knew what she was after. And a woman having an issue of blood, 12 years which had spent all her living. She tried everything.
I tried the broken Cistern's Lord, but all the waters failed.
Have you tried other things tonight? Have you looked for happiness in other ways tonight?
I'm not just talking down to the young people, I'm talking to anybody. Are you guys trying other things tonight other than Christ?
It's not gonna satisfy.
Neither could be healed of any.
She came behind him and touched the border of his garment, and immediately the issue of blood staunched. That's how fast you can be saved tonight. You can be saved right in your chair tonight.
You don't have to wait until after the meeting. You can be saved right now.
Just bow your head right now and say Lord I believe, help thou my unbelief.
I can't imagine anyone to take good.
Of the Lord Jesus Christ, and say no to Christ.
You have to say no to Christ to get to hell.
Now, Brother Ernie Wakefield used to say the cross of Christ had blocked the road to hell. You have to walk. Why the cross and say no to the Lord Jesus Christ. It's hard to get to hell, my friend. It's hard to get to hell. There's not one person in this room that doesn't understand how to be saved tonight. Not one person.
Can you say, Lord, I believe? Take your pride, empty yourself, your pride. It's not that hard. What have you got to lose? You got everything to gain. You can lose your sins, can have all your sins. You can draw them at the cross tonight. You can be washed. Be clean.
Jesus said Somebody hath touched me.
Tonight, people don't get saved in groups to get saved individually.
When you get saved, there'll be joy in the presence. The angels got over one Sinner that repentance.
Be a celebration tonight in heaven if you just come and be saved. Can you come and be healed tonight?
The verse in Revelation I'd like to read. Closing.
Revelation One and verse 18. I believe this verse was read yesterday or today.
To me, this is a very scary verse. This is one of the scariest verses in the Bible if you're not saved.
I am he that liveth you say. Wait a minute.
You said the Lord Jesus died on the cross.
Let's finish the verse. I am he that liveth and was dead.
And behold, I am alive forevermore.
Amen and have the keys of hell and of death.
This is not a fantasy tonight.
People outside these doors will tell you that this is not true. This is just a way. What is? John 14 six says, say I am the way, the truth, the way. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me. You know, the gospel is very exclusive. There's only one way to get to heaven. It's through the Lord Jesus. We accept the Lord Jesus.
Can you be your savior? You know he's not gonna force his way upon you.
00:40:05
He can't have you in his presence with your sins.
God is holy.
The verse that we opened with I wanna read in closing, for there is one God and one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. Can you say yes to the Lord Jesus Christ tonight? Can you take His three gifts?
He hands it out to you. He wants to pardon you.
He wants to have your company. He wants to spend eternity with you. He wants to have a future with you. He wants to have a relationship with you right now.
Would you like to have a friend that sticks closer than brother?
That's what he wants.
The Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. Commend ourselves, our God and Father. We just pray tonight that there would not be any gospel hardened souls here tonight. We pray that that word would not return to the void. We pray that there's someone that's in their sins tonight. They would just bow their head and accept the Lord Jesus as their Savior tonight. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
