Now in the place where [Jesus] was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulcher.
The last time Jesus was in a garden it was a time of intense mental suffering - in the garden of Gethsemane. Now we see Him in a garden of rest. All is over now. Judgment is done, the price of sin paid for. The Lord’s body was laid to rest by loving hands. Is this it? For the disciples it was. But through the Spirit within us we know that it was not. Something wonderful and very marvelous was about to take place. The power of death was about to be broken.
Low in the grave He lay,
Jesus my Saviour.
