Question: Is it true reasoning to argue that because Rom. 6:77For he that is dead is freed from sin. (Romans 6:7) says, “He that is dead is justified from sin,” it must be the new I that is spoken of as dead, inasmuch as no one could say that the old I is justified?
Answer: The most that can be allowed is that justification from sin supposes a sinner, though now a believer. It is of course the same person, but one who being a believer has passed from death into life, and has died with Christ.
