The Pitying Saviour.

JESUS, thou didst pity me,
When I wandered far from thee:
Thou didst hasten to my aid,
In the dust of death vast laid,
That thou might’st obtain for me
Life and immortality.
O my Saviour! precious Lord!
Worthy thou to be adored:
Let thy mercy, vast and free,
Bind my very soul to thee!
Daily let me thee adore,
Loving now and evermore!
