He was captured, and put to death instead of his master, who caused a statue to be erected as a monument of gratitude for the poor servant's fidelity and affection. That man died for his friend, but,
"God commendeth His love toward us in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Rom. 5:88But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8).
Has your heart not been broken by the wonderful love of Jesus in dying on the accursed tree that you should not perish?
"When we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." Rom. 5:66For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6).
"Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." Acts 16:3131And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. (Acts 16:31). Have you believed on His Name?
