"We Pass By"

Poor Tom was a slave to drink, but during a gospel mission he was soundly converted to God. After that he became a sober respectable man.

Tom was missed down at the tavern, and one day the owner stopped him as he passed by and said, “Tom, what’s gone wrong with you? Why do you pass by instead of coming in?”

Tom stopped for a moment. Then with tears in his eyes and glancing heavenward he replied: “It’s not me who passes by. It’s us Jesus and me-who pass by without stopping.”

“Sin shall not have dominion over you.” Rom. 6:14¹⁴For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14).

“Old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Cor. 5:17¹⁷Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17).

“Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isa. 45:22²²Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. (Isaiah 45:22).
