DEU 34:9⁹And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses. (Deuteronomy 34:9)

Joshua . . . was full of the spirit of wisdom.

Much is made today of how smart you are. Kids are encouraged, sometimes even driven, to attain straight A’s in school. The Biblical record of Joshua doesn’t say anything about how smart he was. But it does say that he was full of the spirit of wisdom - that is, godly wisdom. It would be so nice if each of you reading this would make it a special matter of prayer to ask God to give you the spirit of wisdom - to be able to make wise decisions and wise choices. We need to be able to do that in a day of turmoil and trouble.
