1 Kings 1‑22

The government of Solomon. David’s death, Solomon’s reign in peace and building of the Temple, followed by declension and division. The history of Israel (rather than Judah), having 19 wicked kings, and the prophet Elijah sent to Israel, on the ground of responsibility. The temple in Kings is a figure of heaven our future reigning place, and therefore the veil is not mentioned (in 2 Chron. 3:14¹⁴And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon. (2 Chronicles 3:14) it is). Both books were originally one.
