The Bible makes a Christian sure about the future because its Author knows the end from the beginning. Our body is compared to a tabernacle (a tent) because it is only a temporary lodging while on earth. If we die before the Lord comes (1 Corinthians 15:51), our tabernacle will be exchanged for an eternal building of God, not made with hands, at the resurrection. What a blessed hope the believer in Christ has! God has given to us the Holy Spirit, assuring us that after this life of faith, if we should be absent from the body, we would be forever with the Lord. While here, we each have a work to do, and we will be rewarded if we do it well. That is why we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, not to be judged for our sins, but to receive reward for all that we did for Him. Therefore, we should spend our time wisely, serving our Savior and spreading the good news of salvation to others. The One who died for us and rose again is worthy of our all! It was not His perfect life that saved us, but the fact that the Lord Jesus Christ was made to be sin for us in those three hours of darkness on the cross.
