A Thought.

This thought has often come to me: ―
If I write my letters and address them correctly, stamp and post them, they are sure to arrive at their destination, because all the power of Government is behind it. So in like manner, if my prayers are offered in the name of the Lord Jesus, are in sins with the will of God and for His Glory they are sure to be answered because all the power of the Godhead is enlisted on their behalf. See John 14:1414If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. (John 14:14); 1 John 5:14-1514And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. (1 John 5:14‑15); Ephesians 3:20, 2120Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20‑21); Zechariah 4, 6:10. And Asa cried unto the Lord and said “O Lord, it is nothing with thee to help either with many or with them that have no power. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on Thee, and in Thy Name we go against this ‘multitude, O Lord. Thou art our God; let not man prevail against Thee.” So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa. — 2 Chron. 14:1111And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee. (2 Chronicles 14:11).
