V.28-40 King, priest, and prophet (verses 28, 32) are all together. In the millennium (see your chart) this will be Christ’s place. He is all three (See Rev. 19:1616And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16); Heb. 7:21-2821(For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:) 22By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. 23And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: 24But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. 25Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. 26For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; 27Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. 28For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore. (Hebrews 7:21‑28)). Solomon is proclaimed king of Israel. About the year 1015 B.C. He reigned for 40 years. God had chosen him to be a king who would be wise, make righteous decisions and rule over Israel at the time of its highest glory, prosperity, unity and peace.
V.41-53 The news of God’s choice brings fear to those who wanted Adonijah to be king. He was Solomon’s elder brother. He is another picture of the days which are yet to come in the tribulation (“D” on your chart) when the head of the revived Roman Empire — it is taking shape in Europe now — called the “Beast” (Rev. 13:11And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. (Revelation 13:1)). Then there will be another man, the “man of sin,” the “antichrist” who will try to rule the world. The Lord Jesus will suddenly appear in the sky, we believers with Him; “E” on your chart, and will destroy both these men (Rev. 19:19-2119And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. (Revelation 19:19‑21)) and cast alive them alive into hell. Then the Lord Jesus will be the Ruler of the world for 1,000 years (“E” to “F” on chart). So in our chapter we see a picture of all this. Doesn’t it thrill your heart to realize that the Lord Jesus will yet have His right place in this world?
