* * * The time to come is the time of the glory and perfection of the church; the present time, that of faithfulness and of faith, but of a faith which counts upon God, that the church by His power may manifest His glory, even in this world, by its general superiority to all that governs it, and to all that exerts an influence over it. The church is the seat of the power of God in the world. What have we made of it? (See
Eph. 3:20, 21
20
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

.) The Epistle to the Ephesians presents the perfection of the church's position before God; that to the Thessalonians gives us, in the most interesting manner, which has greatly edified me, the perfection of the christian position individually.
