Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly.
The Lord loves a cheerful giver - one who is willing, and glad, to give to others. The rich young ruler (Mark 10:21, 2221Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. 22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. (Mark 10:21‑22)) was apparently not willing to give up his riches. The poor widow in Mark 12 (verses 41-44) who gave her last two coins to the Lord, was really appreciated by Him. As we have opportunity, let us give what we can to and for the Lord.
