7. See in what manner the immense goodness of the Lord considers the conduct of Israel. Israel had murmured,
Ex. 14:11,
11
And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? (Exodus 14:11)
and complained bitterly, but had never cried to the Lord; but in the intercession of Moses all became their cry—their sorrow was a cry. How wonderful this goodness! Compare
Ex. 2:23

And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage. (Exodus 2:23)
