Lot recibe una segunda oportunidad

En el capítulo 14, tenemos el relato de la derrota de Sodoma por la alianza de reyes bajo “Chêdorlaomer”. Cuando Sodoma fue tomada, Lot fue capturado por esos reyes. Cuando Abram se enteró, hizo todo lo posible por liberar a Lot, y por la gracia de Dios, Lot fue liberado. Esto significó que tuvo la oportunidad de empezar de nuevo. ¡Qué bueno es nuestro Dios! Es un Dios de segundas oportunidades en la vida. Puede que hayamos fracasado y hayamos hecho un desastre de nuestras vidas. Quiero decirles que Él es fiel y a menudo le dará a una persona otra oportunidad de seguir adelante para Él. Si este ha sido tu caso, debes aprender del fracaso de Lot y comenzar a seguir adelante para el Señor de ahora en adelante (Jeremías 3:44Wilt thou not from this time cry unto me, My father, thou art the guide of my youth? (Jeremiah 3:4); 1 Pedro 4:22That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. (1 Peter 4:2)).
Dios quiere que aprendamos de nuestros fracasos. Este desastre debería haber servido de advertencia para Lot, pero es triste decir que no tuvo ningún efecto aparente en él. No aprendió nada en absoluto. La siguiente vez que leemos sobre él, está de nuevo en Sodoma. Y esta vez está aún más profundamente arraigado en esa ciudad malvada. Leemos que se involucró en el gobierno de la ciudad como “juez” (Génesis 19:1,91And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; (Genesis 19:1)
9And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. (Genesis 19:9)).
