This in Scripture signifies one who despises God’s gifts (Heb. 12:16¹⁶Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. (Hebrews 12:16)), and is commonly used in a general sense to mean anyone who mocks at Divine things.
