Psa. 89:38‑47• 38But thou hast rejected and cast off; thou hast been very wroth with thine anointed:
39Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant; thou hast profaned his crown to the ground:
40Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strongholds to ruin.
41All that pass by the way plunder him; he is become a reproach to his neighbours.
42Thou hast exalted the right hand of his oppressors; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice:
43Yea, thou hast turned back the edge of his sword, and hast not made him stand in the battle.
44Thou hast made his brightness to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground;
45The days of his youth hast thou shortened; thou hast covered him with shame. Selah.
46How long, Jehovah, wilt thou hide thyself for ever? shall thy fury burn like fire?
47Remember, as regards me, what life is. Wherefore hast thou created all the children of men to be vanity?

2 Thess. 2:3‑12• 3Let not any one deceive you in any manner, because it will not be unless the apostasy have first come, and the man of sin have been revealed, the son of perdition;
4who opposes and exalts himself on high against all called God, or object of veneration; so that he himself sits down in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
5Do ye not remember that, being yet with you, I said these things to you?
6And now ye know that which restrains, that he should be revealed in his own time.
7For the mystery of lawlessness already works; only there is he who restrains now until he be gone,
8and then the lawless one shall be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus shall consume with the breath of his mouth, and shall annul by the appearing of his coming;
9whose coming is according to the working of Satan in all power and signs and wonders of falsehood,
10and in all deceit of unrighteousness to them that perish, because they have not received the love of the truth that they might be saved.
11And for this reason God sends to them a working of error, that they should believe what is false,
12that all might be judged who have not believed the truth, but have found pleasure in unrighteousness.

1 Tim. 4:1‑3• 1But the Spirit speaks expressly, that in latter times some shall apostatise from the faith, giving their mind to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons
2speaking lies in hypocrisy, cauterised as to their own conscience,
3forbidding to marry, bidding to abstain from meats, which God has created for receiving with thanksgiving for them who are faithful and know the truth.

;
2 Tim. 3:1‑17• 1But this know, that in the last days difficult times shall be there;
2for men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, evil speakers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, profane,
3without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, of unsubdued passions, savage, having no love for what is good,
4traitors, headlong, of vain pretensions, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
5having a form of piety but denying the power of it: and from these turn away.
6For of these are they who are getting into houses, and leading captive silly women, laden with sins, led by various lusts,
7always learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
8Now in the same manner in which Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, thus these also withstand the truth; men corrupted in mind, found worthless as regards the faith.
9But they shall not advance farther; for their folly shall be completely manifest to all, as that of those also became.
10But *thou* hast been thoroughly acquainted with my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, endurance,
11persecutions, sufferings: what sufferings happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured; and the Lord delivered me out of all.
12And all indeed who desire to live piously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
13But wicked men and juggling impostors shall advance in evil, leading and being led astray.
14But *thou*, abide in those things which thou hast learned, and of which thou hast been fully persuaded, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15and that from a child thou hast known the sacred letters, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation, through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16Every scripture is divinely inspired, and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness;
17that the man of God may be complete, fully fitted to every good work.

4These are the two olive trees and the two lamps which stand before the Lord of the earth;
5and if any one wills to injure them, fire goes out of their mouth, and devours their enemies. And if any one wills to injure them, thus must he be killed.
6These have power to shut the heaven that no rain may fall during the days of their prophecy; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to smite the earth as often as they will with every plague.
7And when they shall have completed their testimony, the beast who comes up out of the abyss shall make war with them, and shall conquer them, and shall kill them:
8and their body shall be on the street of the great city, which is called spiritually Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.
9And men of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations see their body three days and a half, and they do not suffer their bodies to be put into a sepulchre.
10And they that dwell upon the earth rejoice over them, and are full of delight, and shall send gifts one to another, because these, the two prophets, tormented them that dwell upon the earth.
11And after the three days and a half the spirit of life from God came into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon those beholding them.
12And I heard a great voice out of the heaven saying to them, Come up here; and they went up to the heaven in the cloud, and their enemies beheld them.

18And the nations have been full of wrath, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead to be judged, and to give the recompense to thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and to those who fear thy name, small and great; and to destroy those that destroy the earth.
19And the temple of God in the heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen in his temple: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Rev. 12:13‑17• 13And when the dragon saw that he had been cast out into the earth, he persecuted the woman which bore the male child.
14And there were given to the woman the two wings of the great eagle, that she might fly into the desert into her place, where she is nourished there a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15And the serpent cast out of his mouth behind the woman water as a river, that he might make her be as one carried away by a river.
16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17And the dragon was angry with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus.

 (vv. 23-27) In these closing verses Christ is presented as a divine Person—God—identified with Jehovah....How can Jehovah intervene in blessing for His people if the Messiah is cut off? For the Messiah can say, “He weakened my strength in the way: he shortened my days.” How can the kingdom be established if the anointed King is cut off? There cannot be a restored kingdom without the King. The answer is disclosed in the great mystery of His Person. The Messiah who identified Himself with His suffering people and was cut off, is none less than Jehovah Himself. (Psalms 102 by H. Smith)
 But He (Christ), the sinless One upon whom all the promises depend, must die. He is taken away in the midst of His days (vs. 23-24a). (Book 4. by B. Anstey)
 {v.24b} God speaks, answering Christ in resurrection; although He has been put to death in this world, He will continue forever in another world. (Book 4. by B. Anstey)
