Picking brethren of Second Timothy and.
Like to read?
Two or three verses.
In the first three chapters and then the 4th chapter, First Timothy or Second Timothy rather chapter one, verse 8.
Of being out followed, therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner. But be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God.
Who has saved us and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began.
Now in the second chapter.
And the 2020 first verse. If a man therefore purged himself from these, he shall be a vessel into honor sanctified, and meet for the masters use.
And prepared unto every good work we also use for lusts. But follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace within the calm Lord, out of a pure heart.
And then in the third chapter, in the 14th verse. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned, and has been assured of knowing of whom thou hast learned then, and that from a child, thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation.
Through faith, which is in Christ Jesus, all scripture is given by inspiration of God.
And is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction or instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, truly furnished unto all good works. I charge thee therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead not his appearing and His Kingdom.
Preach the word the instant, in season out of season reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. But after their own lust shall eat to them shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things.
Endure reflections, do the work of an evangelist. Make full proof of thy ministry.
For I am now ready to be offered in the time of my departure is at hand. I acquire a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the fight. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all, and also that love is appearing.
To thy diligence to come shortly unto me, for demons have forsaken me, having love to this present world.
And it's depriving on the Thessalonica presence to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia only Luke is with me. Take Mark and bring him with thee, for he is profitable to me. For the ministry and pictures have I sent to Ephesus. The clothes that I left with troas, with carpets, were now comments. Bring with thee and the books, but especially the parchments.
Alexander the copper Smith, didn't he much evil? The Lord reward him, and should be. I believe in the other translation. The Lord shall reward him according to his works. Of whom be thou art where also? For he had greatness to our words. At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men who took me. I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. Notwithstanding, the Lord stood with me and strengthened me.
That by native preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might be here. And I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly Kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen. So look Priscilla, Priscilla in the household of Homosiferous.
Erastus aboard accordance, but Trophimus have elected millions, six whose high diligence to come before winter.
00:05:00
You must read it. They put the mind, and Claudia and all the brethren, the Lord Jesus Christ be with thy spirit, grace be with you. Amen.
I'm sure all of us realize the 2nd Epistle of Timothy is particularly written for the time in which we live. It's particularly the last days. We have brought before us the responsibility of those who would seek to walk in godliness and last in these last and difficult days. And so surely they have a message for us because we are living in the last days the Lord is.
Dumb a limo stadium in this, a test on the Lord's coming is not so much brought before us as our hope, but it's rather connected with the appearing and the manifestation. Because what is needed and what we need to be encouraged about in these last days is to be faithful. Not only to have the blessed hope that the Lord is coming again. And it is a blessed hope, and it ought to indeed rejoice our hearts.
But all what was before the heart of the apostle was the desire that in these last days not only would he have the hope of the Lord's return before him, but particularly the thought of manifestation, and that the day is coming when everything that we have been have done is going to be manifested, the judgment see of Christ.
Well, the reason I read these portions in the first three chapters was just to give.
Are three important things for us in connection with the last days. In the first chapter it goes back into eternity and tells us about these eternal councils and purposes of God, and these purposes that God had before even the world began. And what an encouragement that is.
No matter how dark and difficult, today isn't blessed to look back into a past eternity, brethren, and know that God had purposes of blessing for us and for all His own.
I know those purposes are going to be fulfilled. No failure on the part of the church, no failure on the power, violence or opposition on the part of man is going to hinder the purposes of God being fulfilled. I didn't have an encouragement to us. And sometimes in the last days we're liable to think how much depends on us.
Well, I'm going to have the spirit that Moses had when he saw difficulties rising. He said that I am not able to bear the burden of this people along.
I literally realized that it was God's faithfulness that was going to bring the people in and he had said he would bring them out, that he might bring them in, nor this could be an instrument, but that's all God's purposes and grace were going to be fulfilled and all. Bradson, doesn't it touch our hearts to the things that God has all determined purposes and they're going to be fulfilled.
And not one of the redeemed is going to be left behind.
The work is going to be completed in grace, and all the redeemed brought safely home. As we often sing our eye alone Thy loved ones all complete in glory. Roundly there was joy shall meet, so that we might say as the starting point and how important it is in a in a dark and difficult day, that we should think that we should think of those internal purposes.
Unless we get occupied with the state of things last, we get occupied with our own part and effort. We need to be occupied with the the sovereign grace and goodness of God.
Well then the reason I read those verses in the second chapter was to show that in the state of confusion was the 40th, 21St and 22nd verse rally in the second chapter. The reason I read that was to show that no matter how Christendom becomes a great house and vessels to honor and justice to dishonor, and that while we are called upon as individuals to separate from the.
And great mass of evil, what we see and the six who go on in the path of faithfulness. Thank God we don't have to go along. We may not know all the ones whom God has called out in his grace. And sometimes we're inclined just to look at the little company that we know ourselves perhaps in our own city, but.
00:10:08
As the Lord is going to have a testimony until he comes again and tells us to follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace.
With them and call on the lorry out of your heart and so when I didn't get the spirit that Elijah had you know, Moses on his part. He thought that he had to bear the burden of the people alone and forgot those counsels and purposes of God and Elijah. He said that I only am left until they seek my life. He could occupy with his own new goldenness and the Lord had to.
We had 7000 who hadn't found any bail and who hadn't kissed him. So God had his own. And so we know He's going to preserve a remnant present. He's going to keep the test upon me, not through any faithfulness of ours, but He's the faithful and true witness, and He will preserve a testimony until the Lord Jesus.
Comes again and then the third chapter from the 14th verse.
That's the importance of the Word. I know we see that as the end approaches, the great importance of the Word of God. I was thinking of how when they came back from their captivity and they started the worship of God again in Jerusalem, how they were exercised, that everything might be according to the Word as it was written.
And so that is what gives us cheer and encouragement to.
We have the word.
If we look around us, we may see failure, we look within, we see weakness, but the word is unchanging. Having earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away. And I just say a special word for those that are beyond. It says handed from a child. Though thou hast known the Holy Scriptures now, there never was time to when children are so privileged as they are.
In these days which we live, perhaps we could say that it's characteristic of the last days and then God works among children. I've instructed the fact that when described, some Pharisees rejected the Lord and that He entered Jerusalem on that cold.
And the strike and fire seasons like it that the children were saying hosanna to the son of David. Yes in the Lord.
Said I was an awful babes and suckling Thou hast ordained strength. And so there were those children who were crying hosanna, and those who ought to have known were rejected. And so I say, what a privilege to the children, to the boys and girls.
He brought up under the sound of the Word come on from their youth to be able to have an open Bible on their knees, and to sit under the sound of it in Sunday school and in the meetings. What a privilege it is only value it. May we value what it is to have the precious Word of God brought before us.
So it could be sort of Timothy from a child of thou hast known the Holy Scriptures. So to mention those three points, and I believe they're very important. God's eternal purposes which are going to be carried out in spite of all the churches failure and all the opposition of Mass and that God is going to preserve a testimony through his own faithfulness to the animal and that he is going to let us have his word.
And the special privilege in these days?
Of bringing the children under the sound of the Word as well as ourselves, so that we might be instructed in a first to salvation, and then to, as it says here, profitable for God, for His truth, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
Oh Lord of God completely says that for all that we need, no matter how dark and evil today, isn't it wonderful that God in his wisdom?
Has given us that corrective ministry in His Word in connection with every state of things that may show itself, whether in our personal lives or whether in our assembly life or whether it be as regarding the profession of others. There is ministry in the Word to meet every situation in which we can find ourselves. That's why we should be so diligent.
00:15:04
Because we do need the whole honor of God and we need the whole Word. We need to read it carefully and prayerfully present. You can't afford to give up one little part of it. We're living in days of compromise. We're living in days when people are dissatisfied or worse if it doesn't fit in with their plans. Or perhaps even we're still if we don't set it aside and we try to find.
Arguing around one sometimes.
The unbeliever set besides the Scripture, as a Christian argues around it. He takes the word peace and as Peter says, we rest the Scripture. That is when we don't write some verse, Why are we trying to find a way of getting it wrong? That version? Well, that's all. Well, isn't it? Woman said this. If there's any verse in the Bible.
That I don't like to have colder tummy than the flesh must be at work in that thing. Shouldn't I be glad to have any verse of God's word called to me? Why, David said thy words were found, and I heard Jeremiah rather thy words were found. United Ethan. And they run to me joy and rejoicing my heart. We ought to be glad.
To receive any part of the word. And so I say to myself as well as each one here.
There's any verse in the Bible that we don't like someone to bring up to us? We better be before the Lord.
I will must be at work in something if we're existing the word. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and it's all profitable. Well now we come to the 4th chapter where Paul in prison at this time.
Charges Tennessee in connection with the difficulties of the pathway. I charge thee, therefore, before God in the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead.
At his appearing and his Kingdom were reminded that God is going to set everything right. The Lord Jesus is the judge and someday everything is going to be set right. No, we get discouraged because we'd like to see things that right now, but present enough going to be set right now.
It's not until the Lord comes the things are going to be set right in this trouble saying and indeed.
Hello. Perhaps in a certain sense it seems discouraging to say that. Yet on the other hand, we know that God warns us now that as the end approaches, things are becoming going to become more difficult. But the Lord is always our resource. He's always our resource and so on brought before us. Here is a fact that the Lord is the one who is going to step everything right in His troubled things.
And this was to encourage the heart of Timothy and a difficult day.
And so he used to go on preaching the word the instant, in season, out of season, in season and out of season. What would that tell us? Well, time was when was easy to get people into a gospel meeting. But today it's very difficult. We can't get them in. So sometimes we have to carry the dogs. We'll choose them where they are, perhaps to work.
Perhaps across the back fence when we're talking to a neighbor. Hard to get him to come to the gospel. But we can be instant in season and out of season. And so let my seem like our season. Why? It's always in season for the believers. What do you give out? The word, and this is a special word, as I say for the last days.
And we do feel more and more that they work of spreading the gospel and giving out the truth becomes in a large measure.
And one has been struck by all the thing that the ones who are saved and and brought in these days are often the results of individuals faithful testimony on the part of someone whom he's that person at work or something like that. Face the world the instant in season out of season.
Recruit reviews absorb with all long-suffering that is.
00:20:00
Where do you understand the character of the day? We're not living in days of Pentecost. We're not living in the days of power as there was in the early days of the church's history. And so there needs to be long-suffering. There needs to be forbarance because we tend to be affected by the state of things that we see about us.
I thought I would think so. And the Lord sent Ezekiel the prophesied of the people of the captivity. It was given a message to them, but it tells us that he went down to the children of the captivity and sat down among them astonished for seven days, and didn't say one word.
The actual word of Scripture are he sat where they sat, He went there and he sat there for seven days.
Before he said anything. And isn't it often so rather than we say things too quickly because we haven't put ourselves in that other person's position? We have never been in their position, perhaps. And so if we were in their position, perhaps we would be more careful and moralized and loving in the way we spoke. So we necessary for Ezekiel in a day like that to go and sit down and see the condition.
Among the chapters. And then he stopped and he's more faithfully killed. And we should speak faithfully, but we need wisdom from the Lord when you speak and how to speak.
All long-suffering and doctrine.
Well tell the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine endure. That day has come today. That day has come when we find that the world Christendom, Christendom, I should say.
Is just filled with false doctrine, and what amazed us most of all is to find these things gradually and filtering in even among those who are known as fundamental, those who are known as preaching the gospel, it often astounds 1.
Picked up a book in fact it was given to me it was just while I was on this trip one man who preaches and that all was heard and very highly commended the defined gospel preacher and here didn't I find that in the book he was teaching that there was a chance for those who were left behind when the Lord comes. Well we see how evil doctrine comes in the time has come when an 11 Jewish sound doctrine.
Do you think that man would receive correction? No signs coming. People don't receive corrections. And that should make us so thankful for the little assembly.
And we ought to explain to the truth, we ought to hold it. Let's not give up any little part of it. Better to have a cube to speak to law and obedience and have great numbers if the truth is not why. And the only way we can have great numbers in a day like this is to have it at the expense of truth. At the expense of truth. That's the only way.
Because.
All the sort of things that is coming in.
Into the broadcasting church is because there is a tendency today to be managed places, man places, and to take away the sharp edge of the truth and to make it a little powerful so.
Tongue down and people want to hear something new, another man I never mind a journey. Sorry to say, a man that needs a lot of bad things met up on the train and the life that a few words to him about the Lord Jesus tried to speak to him about his soul.
By telling me how much you enjoyed listening to some line of Christ over the radio and prophecy and started telling me some of the things he had learned about prophecy and and yet he could speak by his conversation and everything that it was non regenerative.
Man, but he had 18 years. That was quite interesting to him. He heard something about Russia's place in the future and they asked me if I thought it was true.
Oh yeah, did you hear it? But he didn't want the truth about his own name. He didn't want to be told that he was a center and needed Christ and a great deal of that today, 15 years turning away their ears and the truth. And for happily there is a little bit of truth, but he'll be trying to fable. Maybe he's heard of somebody that has given him a little bit of truth.
00:25:08
But not wanting the truth about his own condition.
Where may that land land? Where are they land? And rather than I believe is awarding truth for us because of a tendency for us to want to have something new.
No children of Israel and manna first came. It says it was like tasted like wages of honey. That is the persuasive It was sweet when it first came. But as the luminess journey went on and they grew weary and they grew weary in the monastery.
And they try different ways of preparing it solid and would just taste a little different. But after all the records and the sweetness was gone. I didn't say like honey as it did at the beginning. And so so it is if we lose the precious enjoyment of Christ and the sweetness of Israel, we're going to want new things too. We're not going to be satisfied unless something.
So, uh, interesting and different than what we have heard before. Well, I often think of what a dear brother said to me. He said that it's a bad thing when they lose the enjoyment of a simple thing. The simple thing always is just as precious to you and I tonight as it ever was that Christ died for our sins.
That He saved us from judgment to come that were justified. That was just again the beloved.
Coming and getting for us hardly it's true that we know so well ever sweet and precious to us. Let's not get tired Speaking of them, brethren, every dress up dog that we should be Speaking of anything. We're on the job a full favor of Christ and then we're saved and then the perish where the people were listening or not God delighted to hear his Son. Well, he's spoken out.
Well, that's my fifth word, he says. Watch, Valencia, all things in your affliction.
Do the worker in a brand new? Why is this brought in here?
Well, I will give you a secondary for us to get discouraged. 2525 people don't bother listen to the truth. But we find it generally departs here. We might as well give up this very important part of the work. And what is it? What is important to maintain the truth? The brethren. Why hasn't a large town? Why hasn't he waited? He's waiting.
For some cold and he got again.
That's what you're waiting for.
Excel with the one that worked. The grace is completed, the long doesn't all gone down like that Word is completed. The Lord is going to come and I haven't come because he's waiting. It's all my secret and so met the general define you and let's have a fresh energy in the gospel. It truly may not be able to get large cells together.
But.
Sometimes 1 field might speak to myself.
Danger when see coldness and different Michael interest in the truth. It doesn't appear to get known about the gospel theory not to have that fresh energy and desire that would seek to win others or the warranty of them. So this is very interesting to me the search of my own heart to hear Timothy hold in this last chapter to do the work of an evangelist.
Nightclub News. Prime Ministry.
Allowance to be great, to serve the Lord in this life and sow out the word even in these last days.
Well then, he tells us.
For I am now ready to be offered in the time of my sparse visit hands. I have fought methods, but I have finished my course. I have set the place. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord righteous Judge will give me at that day. Not for me only, but I do all the land also that love is appearing.
Well, it was revealed to the Apostle Paul.
Apparently that he was going to pass through death. As far as we know the room to in the Scripture. Who knew that that is in the New Testament I speak of in my epistles and that was Peter and Paul, but Paul has now come to the end. He was about he was about to be called home. And for us, of course, in this application to ourselves.
00:30:14
We're about to be called home. The time of our departure is at hand only for us. It could be part by the coming of the Lord. That's our hope. That's what we're looking for.
And so as the time you may hear all especially anxious that he should continue in this fight of place said I componently fighting. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith and this expression. These faith refers to the whole deposit of truth that have been committed to Paul and I believe for ourselves.
It's very important because.
There's a continuum trouble. There is a continual struggle to keep the ladies play from these faiths to all the descendancy to give up. And let us not think that because we are gathered to the name of the Lord Jesus, precious privileges of his, that and we're going to be exempt, they'll be in struggle even to the maintenance of them ourselves.
The enemy will always be different. The enemy will always trust.
To Rod, just like he did with Israel, he tried to take away another corner of the line and that corner of the line and there was a continual conflict to maintain that which God had given to them and brethren, it's going to be the Lord leaves us here. It's going to need more of that energy in place to keep the faith and especially.
As departure and out of the world comes in for, you know, in reality.
Have as much of the truth as we walk in.
Sometimes. But if I have a piece of furniture in my house and I haven't used it for a couple of years and sitting down in the basement and somebody asked me for it, why, I'll gladly give it to them on play. Sure. I haven't used it for a couple of years here or take it. Not much use to me. And so if there's any part of the truth that we're not walking in that we've relegated to the basement, why, remember, when the test comes, it'll be easy to give.
It'll be easy to give that up. But if there was an article of furniture that we're using every day, we say no, I can't. Part of that, it's very useful, use it every day. My president, let us seek to walk in the truth. The danger comes of getting out when we're not walking in it. And So what the enemy does, as he did with Israel.
He got them careless and their marriage had took place with the people of the land.
They didn't keep the score star. Other things took place and then in the day of battle, they were weak, they had no power.
Just as it was in Azure's day, through these intermarriages with the with the heathen round about them.
Then wasn't long until Savannah had a chamber in the House of the Lord. And what weakness there was and all how we need to watch because the enemy would be to rob us too. I have fought as a fight all brothers, and let us be faithful. It's always in this world a seamless conflict. We can never shut down the armor.
Until we get home. But Benny Hall looks on to that time when he'll get home and he said it'll be worth it all. It'll be worth it all when I get home because it says it's going to be a manifestation. And there are four crowns mentioned in the scriptures and the two of them I believe are particularly connected with the last days. I believe this one where it says.
The crown of righteousness. And then in Peter's epistles where we read of the crown of glory, I believe both of them are particularly connected with the last stage because the crown of righteousness is connected to this. All those in Asia have turned away from Paul. And it was saying too narrow, they were saying.
Wasn't in prison they would feel a little better toward him, but to be identified as Paul a prisoner. They didn't like that I didn't like to be identified with a rejected testimony. And then we signed to and he read the pistol and that add it to the faithful shepherd. It tells us to feed the flock of God.
00:35:12
When the chief stepper shall appear, he shall receive a crown glory that fathers not alike spread, and I believe a little too strong and particularly connected with the last day. It takes the special energy to be in the fresh enjoyment of the Lord and our souls so that we're able to feed the flock of God.
Not not just give some little intellectual thought. Now we can read up things in the book and we can give intellectual thoughts, but that is improved. Is it that is improved? I haven't. It takes real. It takes real going on with the Lord to have food for the soul. Those who think are fresh, well.
Let us take to come to the meeting in such a way that we have something that will refresh.
Strengthen the same that they'll be able to say that was good for us to be here. Well then the righteous judge, the Lord is the righteous judge and sometimes the testimony may be connected with.
Reproach as when Paul was in Britain, but it tells here that the Lord is a righteous judge. It was an 80. I turned away from Paul. They didn't want to follow him in that time, but he was satisfied that he was walking in the truth and that the Lord was a righteous judge.
And so we need that sense in our souls. We can't please everyone. It's impossible.
It's impossible I always like that little hymn that says from various tears our hearts to sirens shall heap and bound with their desire is now to plead with one him before whom he shall bottle against all our business now, and those that aren't his own. Let's seek to please the Lord and seeking to please the alarm our lives will become a blessing.
And the law is the righteous judge. He'll manifest us in that day. So here again, as I say, it's not the rapture that we knew, but it's the appearing. Besides, responsibility in the Scripture is always connected with the appearance.
A very simple thought I believe. Why it is?
Sometimes put like this when I'm away, perhaps my boy might all might not always be obedient.
It might not be what it should be during my absence, but I always want my return home to be connected with joy and not with a manifestation in government. I would like to think when I come home that there's a joy in my coming home. And so when I come home I don't want to take up with him at that time anything about his conduct, perhaps afterwards that may come up.
But my return home doesn't have to do with that side of things. It's rather the hope. I'll see you Daddy again. Well, isn't it lovely that when the Lord Jesus presents flood, the hope of his coming as the bridesmaid brides never brings any responsibility. It's always, it's always joy and comfort. And with the blessed prospect of seeing him whenever responsibility comes in.
And connected with the appearance which takes place after the judges. Christ has manifested our lives. So here's I say it's not loving you coming here. That is a rapture, but loving his appearing is appearing. Oh you say it wouldn't be lonely if the Lord came tonight. Indeed it was precious to think of seeing his face, but.
Brazen Are you living in such a way that our lives, at least the desire of our hearts is?
That our lives should be agreeable to him, agreeable to him. Then he loves the theory. Then he say well, one thing, one thing I think is misapproprial. And at that time all 20 manufactured well. That's why I said love is appearing.
Well, very interesting to notice in this ninth verse and a gain in the 21St verse is thy diligence to come shortly on the reins on the 21St verse, to die judgment, to come to full winter. And that's why the rest is known as last. Well, surely it's the beloved apostle held the knees of the fellowship of such a one as Timothy.
00:40:07
Who he loves in the face. It shows us how much we need one another rather than it shows how much we need to be together.
I was quite impressed and noticing that now that it's mentioned here twice in this chapter. And so sometimes we have to use Jordan to get out of the meeting too. But we do need them and so much the more as you see the Gray approaching. I'm sure in those days travel was by no means easy, but the hardly apartment longed to have fellowship with Timothy.
Runs with who? He could have, shall we say, hindered thoughts.
And a funny Christians elsewhere. But what a privilege to be gathered with those to call on the Lord under a pure heart with whom we can have kindred thoughts. So I say bread and let us have village and let us use village, and to get out to the meeting and enjoy fellowship together.
Well, now we have the mention of different names here. That is very interesting.
Call attention to the four demons in the Senate works, for Hemus hath forsaken me, having loved his present world, and is departed on the special nighting. His most thorough leader isn't there. I believe that demons was a true child of God. I expect an agreement in heaven, but as he must, I didn't want to pass.
He preserved the Apostle Paul and wine where he loved his present world.
And Al Braden, we do need these warnings in these last day of the world is grasped up. It has many attractions. There are things all the time that are thinking to lead our hearts away. Now that we don't choose diligence to get to the meeting. It won't be long till we be going after this threatened world. It won't be long until other things free to come because of the heart must have an object.
And so if if we're doing getting to the meetings, we have our requestions and the Jordan and fellowship of the thanks of God.
Yes ma'am, he didn't only spend somewhere coincidence somewhere and it's not hard to have his present world quiz in it. No one may not be the evil of the world. It doesn't say here the demons pass is particularly evil. Sometimes we only think of the world in eagle side. We'll hear Christians even say followed nothing wrong about that, but the educational.
But because of this, that the world in all the glory is just as bad and just as corrupt.
And before God as the world is evil most fleshly life. The things that Satan showed to the Lord when he brought them up to the receiving time on when the bad things of the world said he showed them all the kingdoms of the world and the glory and the glory of you. And I like to see the glory of the world and we like to see all that scientific advancements and all it's doing in the occupied with the progress.
Making and all these things sometimes you call these things educational, but which made me do they educate brethren, which nature will also the things that Satan portrays to the Lord on that exceeding high mountain. And what does the Lord do? He offered them all to the Lord do but the Lord said thou shalt worship the Lord thine loving him only shall stop, Sir.
192 of 94 aspirants Remember, I say not the sinful bad things of this world, but just explore it attractive things, but soon leave the heart away from that greater Vista of Lord.
My brother saying, if we often saying no, bright and blessed things were things I never thought for in the night that in which we get occupied with the glory of this world, where wrought out of the blessed prospects of that glory which the apostles speaks out in the end of this chapter of the eternal Kingdom, the glory that's before us there.
Will and remain those different ones?
In the last verse it says take Mark and bring him with thee, for he is procritable to me for the ministry. No Mark had been restored. Isn't it beautiful, Marva Delaway? But Marci can restore.

What impresses me in reading these different names is but there's not a great deal of comments made about them. A little bit of sad and it shows that the Lord makes an interest in us individually and sometimes the silence restrictors is as important as what's played.
Define current in the 16th of Romans Paul mentioned some names and doesn't make any comments. Nothing very names and he has a happy comment you make about his name. Well, the Lord is writing up our report too.
And practice if I mean injury among those who are seeking to walk in the path, but the more pressure still, if there is that energy that he can command, that energy that is pleading to him. The obstacle for me to the ministry then is a little warning here too. Well, perhaps I can't make a comment about the 13th version.
And says the closely thought that the trolley was carbon is carpets when the economy spring with the.
And the book, but especially the parchment.
Well, he learned from this that Paul was concerned with the daily matters of life above the close. But I was thinking predictably of the last part of the word. He was a prisoner, but he wasn't wasting time. He wasn't wasting his time. And he was anxious that he's a parchment, which no doubt were part of the scriptures, should be brought to him.
And so he may be confined strapped to it occasionally can't get to the meeting Well are we occupying ourselves a good thing. Suppose we have to stay home for as we could go wouldn't be happy things if you're during that early time that we have. I'm not able to get to the meeting exactly where occupied with depression Dragons.
That God has given to us enjoying them press, our brethren, might get something of what we had claimed you.
And so follow all of the prisoner. He was concerned about the parchment, which were no doubt were part of the written word.
He also gives a little warning here about Alexander the copper's nut, and I called attention to the other translation in our the Lord reward him. The other translation says The Lord shall reward him. The reason I call attention to that difference is.
That all wasn't wishing anything to happen to him. And presently we should never wish anything to happen to any of our brethren, no matter what they've done to us. Sometimes if someone's unkind to us, we might wish that something would happen to them after they have said something unkind to us or done something unkind to us. But Paul didn't. He said the Lord looked after that.
The Lord will look after that. We can safely leave all of the law we have. We ought to have possible love for our brands, and there's any situation that arises we may have to pant on the warnings. Paul passed on a warning here.
Beware of this man Alexander. But he didn't wish anything upon him, he just committed the whole day to the Lord. And so the Lord will take care of every situation in his own time and way if we just leave it with him. As someone has written those little lines, double indication shine.
It's in the right way, installed by taking from God's hand thy heart. If wrong, what dost thou but invite Satan himself by framing me to stand?
Leave all of God in front of him, if not he requires therefore to him dull so he can pleasing things to the Lord as Paul did then to another person he says 16 birds that my first answer no man stood with me that all man besook me and isn't this beautiful, I pray God.
That it may not be late in the new charge.
What do you want to happen? Now I have to learn about it. You have to warn about Alexander because his opposition was intentional. It was bad, it was evil. But believe, I believe there was a lack of courage. And I think this is so sweet and touching. If someone doesn't stand with us for lack of courage, reliably say, what is it? They wouldn't help you out when they're in the difficulty. They wouldn't stand with you.
00:50:06
Because I pray God that it may not be late, for their joy is not the spirit of His Master, the Lord Jesus on the cross.
Father's forgive them, for they know not what they do. How many we present shall the Spirit of Christ, and all that takes place and all that happens. And if someone has gone around to us that we might pray that it wouldn't be laid to their charge. All that surely was, we believe, the Spirit of Christ.
Well, were you without anyone that stand by him or the Lord?
Notwithstanding, no Lord, said Simon. And no matter, no matter how we may be left alone at times, and we noticed in the second chapter, we'll never be left entirely alone. The testimony will continue, but the time may come. Different matters in our lives where we may be called upon to stand alone. I love standing alone.
In the consciousness that we are not doing another thrive.
But only taking a large line and the blood in the ground, if we ever stand alone in the transit, we're better than others. That's pride, and we'll have to bring down the healing hand of God. But if we stand alone, they're not actually desire to be faithful to the Lord's glory. By then we can say to leave it all alone. The Lord could find it, and he was delivered.
What you'll ever and and so we find that when he was delivered, then there were some others of fame and identify themselves with him. It always reminds one of Gideon's. You remember how Gideon went out to 300 men and they went out and bought the Midianites and then when there was great victory being won all everything and joined in and they wanted to have a chair in the glory of a crew. They want to take the credit.
And the area was willing to give them all the credit, he says. What was I able to do in comparison with you and have a lovely spirit? He asked. He was going to give him credit. And yet as far as he was concerned, he was the only one who was greedily exercised about the state of things in Israel. But his face became increasing to others. Daniel had to stand alone.
But his face became encouragement to other skills.
So rather than sometimes a warrior, it's nice that's just alone, but let us have large hearts, but don't condemn others or speak your goods and speak your blessings, speak your happiness, supporting in the mind of God.
And the Lord shall deserve me, deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto His heavenly Kingdom, to whom the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Well, his confidence was in the law. He didn't say, he didn't say they could do anything. That's on strength. His whole confidence is in the Lord says the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work. I'm no preserve me.
Replay Kuwa humbly and the fact of obedience to the Lord while I'm he will deserve it. The good verse in the 17th Psalms. By the word of thy left have I kept me from the time to be destroyed by the word of thy living. You and I are only faith, faith in the path of obedience to the Word.
That says anything in your life or mine that we know is disobedience to the words. Why? The enemy can get in at that point.
But let us seek to have our lives in conformity to God and the earth and his wealth, and then we can say, preserve me all gone for him. Leave. Do I put my truck?
Well then we noticed in the 20th verse the last disappointed Corinth, but so famous have I left at militants sick Well.
The apostle had power in all those that he could have healed, so famous when he came to the island of Malika to heal all people with sick on the island. So I'm sure that as far as the power was concerned that he had power to heal. But why isn't he used his ear? Well, we don't believe power being used in that way.
And in Scripture, the Lord never once used power to relieve his own suffering. He never used power once to make the pathway easier for himself. Don't you think he could have got water out of that well without asking that woman for him? I could raise the dead and he could have got water over that well without asking the woman. But he didn't.
00:55:22
Oh, how many times he gets back? He could have prayed for a legion and 12 legions of angels, but not he come to do his Father's wealth All the one's own soul. That's that's righteousness cutting. If we have power in our disposal, we like to use it for ourselves.
I did not for our own deliverance, at least to show our power before others. But here was the Lord walking through this world, and she never did one thing to please himself. And every act of healing that He did was the glory of the sun. It's not only his body's glory. And so we find the fall of the earth, another communion of the mind of God.
He knew this business we could for subpoena. It was needed for him.
Install scratch the light and weight off the side early exercise by all these passes through. He has a purpose in everything. Nothing happens by chance. All he allows is involving for our brother well in the last verse that the Lord Jesus Christ be with thy first grace be with you.
Amen, as one remarked with this chapter and special words for the last day.
Same to me and leading up to the advances of the state of things that we see above us, the circumstances in which our lives can the way we often feel that we are treated by others. And to me it's just a simple little, just simple little picture in this chapter of the state of things back in the last days of the Apostle Paul. And one thought hard answer to the present time, which delayed out sitting to our own assembly life.
In these days and how encouraged me to find the apostle Paul and a time like this charging Timothy now don't give it 30 just go on that I have known something of these difficulties that you're talking through and the loyalty faithful. He'll sustain you and he said the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ through with your spirit. Don't get under the fair things.
Be about it in your soul, for the Lord's about it. The Lord is above. He's always about to stay in pain. And on a cloudy day sometimes we say, for the sun's not shining today.
But I like to think it's always giant. But if you would just get above the clouds, we see it as bright as ever. And so sometimes we get below the clouds. We see the difficulties, we see the troubles. But as we get above the flowers, the clouds look beautiful. Now you want to try going down on the train down the coastal in California. And we came to a point where they.
Want to build a cloud? And all as beautiful as we pass along there and watch those flowers in the valley.
It's all beautiful with the sun shining on them. I thought I'd suppose those people underneath the cloud think it's a dark day, but for me, up there, it looks so beautiful and bright. And there are two ways for us to look at the clouds too. If we seek to be above them as God and our souls, why we see that there are allowing for our good and for our blessings, and that they're all.
But fresh occasions for us.
The show for the praise begins and call this other document and it was marvelous laughing. One of them impressed by the 1St Lately in all these things, we are more than conquered to him with Lambda one way to pesticide for long time, but what that meant more than conquered and I like to think of this. This is one starting connection with us.
Not only does the Lord give the grace to life without the difficulty, but He turned to difficulty into a positive blessing.
If we take it from here and so that when we get home to heaven, not only will we thank him for the grace of that helped us through the trial, but when we look back, we'll say.
