Jesus His holy soul poured forth
A sacrifice for sin,
Enduring all Jehovah’s wrath
Our souls to win.
His spotless life, death could not claim,
The living One was He,
Who bowed in grace to death and shame,
Upon the tree.
Believers now in Him are seen;
No condemnation theirs,
No hand can separate between
Christ and His heirs.
One with the risen Christ they stand
In righteousness and life;
A justified and heavenly band
With blessings rife.
Behind them death’s dark Jordan flows
Its depths are past for aye;
Before, the golden Canaan glows
In God’s own day.
O, God! we would Thy love adore,
Triumphant o’er the fall.
Blest is the heart for evermore
Where Christ is all.
