He oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain.
Onesiphorus labored for the Lord in a special way. He often visited the Apostle Paul in prison and encouraged him. Onesiphorus was not ashamed to be identified with the imprisoned Apostle. Paul perhaps got discouraged at times in his prison cell, but a visit from this servant of Christ really refreshed him and helped him not give up.
