(wall). A desert region of Arabia, and its town, bordering on Egypt (Gen. 16:7; 25:18⁷And the angel of the Lord found her by a fountain of water in the wilderness, by the fountain in the way to Shur. (Genesis 16:7)
¹⁸And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria: and he died in the presence of all his brethren. (Genesis 25:18)). “Wilderness of Etham” (Num. 33:8⁸And they departed from before Pi-hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness, and went three days' journey in the wilderness of Etham, and pitched in Marah. (Numbers 33:8)). Inhabited by Amalekites (1 Sam. 15:7; 27:8⁷And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt. (1 Samuel 15:7)
