SINNER, thou art lost by nature,
Thou art lost by practice too,
And the road that thou art treading
Leads you on to endless woe.
If thou then art lost by nature
Thou art very far from God,
And the road that thou art treading
Is a road that's very broad.
Thou art blinded too by Satan,
With his wiles he leads you on,
Till at last he has you captured,
When your course on earth is done.
Sinner, thou art lost by practice,
Thou hast made thy choice to go
In the way that leads to evil,
And that ends in deepest woe.
Thou hast this lost world befriended,
Thou hast sought thy portion here,
And thy precious soul neglected,
Never has it been thy care.
Jesus came to save the lost one,
Died upon the cruel cross,
And a full and free salvation,
Now is offered to the lost.
Come to Him as lost and needy,
Place in Him your trust today,
Or away from Him in darkness,
Thou wilt spend eternity.
