The revelation of Jesus Christ is His general appearing and must not be confused with His coming for the saints when they will meet Him in the air. It will be a time of judgment, the day of God Almighty (Rev. 16:1414For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. (Revelation 16:14), 2 Thess. 1:8,98In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (2 Thessalonians 1:8‑9)), whereas His coming for the saints will be joy and great pleasure. The appearing will occur about seven years after the Church is caught up to heaven.
At the appearing the saints will have their reward, and He will show the world that we belong to Him (2 Thess. 1:1010When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. (2 Thessalonians 1:10)), but those who received not the love of the truth shall perish. 2 Thess. 2:1010And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (2 Thessalonians 2:10). Many in Christendom who have the outward forms of Christianity but are without Christ, and apostate Judah, with their antichrist, shall perish.
The thought is sobering. Have we received the love of the truth concerning the person of Christ? To have assented to it and then to go on our way not walking with Christ according to the knowledge we have of Him will not make us fit for heaven.
Many in Christendom will have known many facts but will not have loved the truth, turning aside to their own forms and inventions, setting aside the Spirit of God and electing their own priests. The things that we love have the priority in our lives. Do we love the truth and make it our priority? If so, we will walk in it, manifesting the life of Christ, separate from the world, and thus we will give evidence that we have received the love of it.
