What maintained Israel in relationship with Jehovah on the great day of atonement? Blood.
But—
"Not all the blood of beasts
On Jewish altars slain,
Could give the guilty conscience peace,
Or wash away its stain.”
But believers can add—
`But Christ, the heavenly Lamb,
Took all our guilt away;
A sacrifice of nobler name,
And richer blood than they.”
A Christian visiting a dying youth, having quoted this blessed verse, added, "So that not a spot nor stain remains.”

Are you cleansed by the blood?
