7. Thou Son of God--The Woman's Seed

8,8,6.

Thou Son of God — the woman’s seed

Who didst for us on Calv’ry bleed,

And bear our heavy load;

Spoiler of death’s o’erwhelming power,

O’ercome by Thee in that dread hour;

Thou holy One of God!
“And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” (Matthew 16:16)
“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.” (Genesis 3:15)
“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law.” (Galatians 4:4)
“But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.” (John 19:34)
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.” (Hebrews 2:14)
“But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” (2 Timothy 1:10)
“Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.” (Mark 1:24)
“But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you.” (Acts 3:14)

Thy blood we sing; by that alone,

With boldness to th’ eternal throne,

Through Thee we now draw nigh;

It blots out every stain of sin,

Washes the guilty conscience clean,

And makes th’ accuser fly.
“But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people. The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing. Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience. Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building. Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:7-14)
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)
“Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.” (Hebrews 10:19)
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
“I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.” (Isaiah 43:25)
“Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.” (Isaiah 44:2)
“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14)
“And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” (Revelation 12:10)
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7)

Behold us, Lord! a feeble band,

In conflict with the foe we stand,

The ransomed of Thy cross;

We sing the triumphs of Thy name;

All other glory here is shame,

All other gain’s but loss.
“Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32)
“I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8)
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
“Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1 Timothy 2:6)
“Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of his knowledge by us in every place.” (2 Corinthians 2:14)
“Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)” (Philippians 3:19)
“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.” (Philippians 3:8)
