81*. Let All Who Know the Joyful Sound

8,8,6.
by T. Kelly
1
Let all who know the joyful sound,

With gladness send the tidings round,

And tell that God is love:

That God so loved the world He gave

His own dear Son the world to save;

God’s message from above.
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” (Luke 2:10-11)
“He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.” (1 John 4:8)
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
2
That all who in the Son believe,

Shall never perish, but receive

Life endless and divine;

No condemnation e’er shall know,

From death to life they pass below,

And then in glory shine.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” (John 5:24)
3
’Tis not of works: let no man boast,

Save in His name who saves the lost —

The Lord our righteousness!

Poor sinner, now from working cease,

And claim from God a blood-bought peace,

And Jesus, Lord confess.
“Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:9)
“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
4
Let all who know our God rejoice,

Praise Him in songs with cheerful voice,

And live to Him alone:

Let sinners too take up the strain,

Exalt the Lamb for sinners slain,

The coming Savior own.
“Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.” (Psalm 63:3)
“For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.” (Romans 14:8)
“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation.” (Revelation 5:9)
5
The Spirit and the bride say, Come!

Let him that heareth too say, Come!

Whoever thirsts may come:

Water of life is freely given

Till Christ the Lord descends from heaven;

Lord Jesus, quickly come!
“And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” (Revelation 22:17)
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.” (1 Thessalonians 4:16)
“He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” (Revelation 22:20)
