Time Out

EXO 14:13-15¹³And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. ¹⁴The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. ¹⁵And the Lord said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward: (Exodus 14:13‑15)

Stand still. . . . The Lord shall fight for you . . . go forward.

Moses told the children of Israel to stand still. God told them to move on. There’s a lesson here for us. When life gets crazy and time isn’t available anymore, maybe it’s time to stand still and wait to hear the Lord’s command, “Go forward.” In the Psalms we read, “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning.” “Be still, and know that I am God.” Take time out once in a while for a private talk with the Lord.
