Is one of His attributes. Deut. 32:4⁴He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. (Deuteronomy 32:4). Isa. 65:16¹⁶That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes. (Isaiah 65:16).

Always goes before His face. Psa. 89:14¹⁴Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. (Psalm 89:14).

He keeps, forever. Psa. 146:6⁶Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever: (Psalm 146:6).

DESCRIBED AS

Great. Psa. 57:10¹⁰For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. (Psalm 57:10).

Plenteous. Psa. 86:15¹⁵But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. (Psalm 86:15).

Abundant. Ex. 34:6⁶And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, (Exodus 34:6).

Inviolable. Num. 23:19¹⁹God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? (Numbers 23:19). Titus 1:2²In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (Titus 1:2).

Reaching to the clouds. Psa. 57:10¹⁰For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. (Psalm 57:10).

Enduring to all generations. Psa. 100:5⁵For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations. (Psalm 100:5).

United with mercy in redemption. Psa. 85:10¹⁰Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. (Psalm 85:10).

EXHIBITED IN HIS

Counsels of old. Isa. 25:1¹O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. (Isaiah 25:1).

Ways. Rev. 15:3³And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. (Revelation 15:3).

Works. Psa. 33:4⁴For the word of the Lord is right; and all his works are done in truth. (Psalm 33:4). Psa. 111:7⁷The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. (Psalm 111:7). Dan. 4:37³⁷Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase. (Daniel 4:37).

Judicial statutes. Psa. 19:9⁹The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. (Psalm 19:9).

Administration of justice. Psa. 96:13¹³Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth. (Psalm 96:13).

Word. Psa. 119:160¹⁶⁰Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever. (Psalm 119:160). John 17:17¹⁷Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. (John 17:17).

Fulfillment of promises in Christ. 2 Cor. 1:20²⁰For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. (2 Corinthians 1:20).

Fulfillment of His covenant. Mic. 7:20²⁰Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old. (Micah 7:20).

Dealings with saints. Psa. 25:10¹⁰All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. (Psalm 25:10).

Deliverance of saints. Psa. 57:3³He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth. (Psalm 57:3).

Punishment of the wicked. Rev. 16:7⁷And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments. (Revelation 16:7).

Remembered toward saints. Psa. 98:3³He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. (Psalm 98:3).

Is a shield and buckler to saints. Psa. 91:4⁴He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. (Psalm 91:4).

WE SHOULD

Confide in. Psa. 31:5⁵Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth. (Psalm 31:5). Titus 1:2²In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; (Titus 1:2).

Plead, in prayer. Psa. 89:49⁴⁹Lord, where are thy former lovingkindnesses, which thou swarest unto David in thy truth? (Psalm 89:49).

Pray for its manifestation to ourselves. 2 Chr. 6:17¹⁷Now then, O Lord God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David. (2 Chronicles 6:17).

Pray for its exhibition to others. 2 Sam. 2:6⁶And now the Lord show kindness and truth unto you: and I also will requite you this kindness, because ye have done this thing. (2 Samuel 2:6).

Make known to others. Isa. 38:19¹⁹The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth. (Isaiah 38:19).

Magnify. Psa. 71:22²²I will also praise thee with the psaltery, even thy truth, O my God: unto thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel. (Psalm 71:22). Psa. 138:2²I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. (Psalm 138:2).

IS DENIED BY

The devil. Gen. 3:4, 5⁴And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: ⁵For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (Genesis 3:4‑5).

The self-righteous. 1 John 1:10¹⁰If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (1 John 1:10).

Unbelievers. 1 John 5:10¹⁰He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. (1 John 5:10).

Exemplified towards Abraham, Gen. 24:27²⁷And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the Lord led me to the house of my master's brethren. (Genesis 24:27). Jacob, Gen. 32:10¹⁰I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast showed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands. (Genesis 32:10). Israel, Psa. 98:3³He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. (Psalm 98:3).
