This word means the whole tenor of life of a Christian. It is to be worthy of God (1 Thess. 2:12¹²That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. (1 Thessalonians 2:12)), worthy of the Lord (Col. 1:10¹⁰That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; (Colossians 1:10)), in the Spirit (Gal. 5:25²⁵If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25)), in newness of life (Rom. 6:4⁴Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:4)), worthy of our vocation (Eph. 4:1¹I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, (Ephesians 4:1)), as children of light (Eph. 5:8⁸For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (Ephesians 5:8)), honestly, circumspectly, &c.
