Abominable branches. Isa. 14:19¹⁹But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. (Isaiah 14:19).

Ashes under the feet. Mal. 4:3³And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts. (Malachi 4:3).

Bad fishes. Matt. 13:48⁴⁸Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. (Matthew 13:48).

Beasts. Psa. 49:12¹²Nevertheless man being in honor abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. (Psalm 49:12). 2 Peter 2:12¹²But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; (2 Peter 2:12).

Blind, The. Zeph. 1:17¹⁷And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. (Zephaniah 1:17). Matt. 15:14¹⁴Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. (Matthew 15:14).

Brass and iron, &c. Jer. 6:28²⁸They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters. (Jeremiah 6:28). Eze. 22:18¹⁸Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver. (Ezekiel 22:18).

Briars and thorns. Isa. 55:13¹³Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the Lord for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off. (Isaiah 55:13). Ezek. 2:6⁶And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. (Ezekiel 2:6).

Bulls of Bashan. Psa. 22:12¹²Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round. (Psalm 22:12).

Carcasses trodden under feet. Isa. 14:19¹⁹But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet. (Isaiah 14:19).

Chaff. Job 21:18¹⁸They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away. (Job 21:18). Psa. 1:4⁴The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. (Psalm 1:4). Matt. 3:12¹²Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. (Matthew 3:12).

Clouds without water. Jude 12¹²These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; (Jude 12).

Corn blasted. 2 Kin. 19:26.

Corrupt trees. Luke 6:43⁴³For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. (Luke 6:43).

Deaf adders. Psa. 58:4⁴Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear; (Psalm 58:4).

Dogs. Prov. 26:11¹¹As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. (Proverbs 26:11). Matt. 7:6⁶Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. (Matthew 7:6). 2 Peter 2:22²²But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (2 Peter 2:22).

Dross. Psa. 119:119¹¹⁹Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies. (Psalm 119:119). Ezek. 22:18, 19¹⁸Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver. ¹⁹Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. (Ezekiel 22:18‑19).

Early dew that passeth away. Hos. 13:3³Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney. (Hosea 13:3).

Evil figs. Jer. 24:8⁸And as the evil figs, which cannot be eaten, they are so evil; surely thus saith the Lord, So will I give Zedekiah the king of Judah, and his princes, and the residue of Jerusalem, that remain in this land, and them that dwell in the land of Egypt: (Jeremiah 24:8).

Fading oaks. Isa. 1:30³⁰For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water. (Isaiah 1:30).

Fiery oven. Psa. 21:9⁹Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them. (Psalm 21:9). Hos. 7:4⁴They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened. (Hosea 7:4).

Fire of thorns. Psa. 118:12¹²They compassed me about like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the Lord I will destroy them. (Psalm 118:12).

Fools building upon sand. Matt. 7:26²⁶And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: (Matthew 7:26).

Fuel of fire. Isa. 9:19¹⁹Through the wrath of the Lord of hosts is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother. (Isaiah 9:19).

Garden without water. Isa. 1:30³⁰For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water. (Isaiah 1:30).

Goats. Matt. 25:32³²And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: (Matthew 25:32).

Grass. Psa. 37:2²For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. (Psalm 37:2). Psa. 92:7⁷When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: (Psalm 92:7).

Grass on the housetop. 2 Kin. 19:26.

Green bay-trees. Psa. 37:35³⁵I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree. (Psalm 37:35).

Green herbs. Psa. 37:2²For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. (Psalm 37:2).

Heath in the desert. Jer. 17:6⁶For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited. (Jeremiah 17:6).

Horses rushing into the battle. Jer. 8:6⁶I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turned to his course, as the horse rusheth into the battle. (Jeremiah 8:6).

Idols. Psa. 115:8⁸They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them. (Psalm 115:8).

Lions greedy of prey. Psa. 17:12¹²Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places. (Psalm 17:12).

Melting wax. Psa. 68:2²As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melteth before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God. (Psalm 68:2).

Morning-clouds. Hos. 13:3³Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney. (Hosea 13:3).

Moth-eaten garments. Isa. 50:9⁹Behold, the Lord God will help me; who is he that shall condemn me? lo, they all shall wax old as a garment; the moth shall eat them up. (Isaiah 50:9). Isa. 51:8⁸For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and my salvation from generation to generation. (Isaiah 51:8).

Passing whirlwinds. Prov. 10:25²⁵As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation. (Proverbs 10:25).

Potsherds. Prov. 26:23²³Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross. (Proverbs 26:23).

Raging waves of the sea. Jude 13¹³Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. (Jude 13).

Reprobate silver. Jer. 6:30³⁰Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them. (Jeremiah 6:30).

Scorpions. Ezek. 2:6⁶And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. (Ezekiel 2:6).

Serpents. Psa. 58:4⁴Their poison is like the poison of a serpent: they are like the deaf adder that stoppeth her ear; (Psalm 58:4). Matt. 23:33³³Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? (Matthew 23:33).

Stubble. Job 21:18¹⁸They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away. (Job 21:18). Mal. 4:1¹For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. (Malachi 4:1).

Troubled sea. Isa. 57:20²⁰But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. (Isaiah 57:20).

Visions of the night. Job 20:8⁸He shall fly away as a dream, and shall not be found: yea, he shall be chased away as a vision of the night. (Job 20:8).

Wandering stars. Jude 13¹³Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. (Jude 13).

Wayward children. Matt. 11:16¹⁶But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children sitting in the markets, and calling unto their fellows, (Matthew 11:16).

Wells without water. 2 Peter 2:17¹⁷These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. (2 Peter 2:17).

Wheels. Psa. 83:13¹³O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. (Psalm 83:13).

Whited sepulchers. Matt. 23:27²⁷Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. (Matthew 23:27).

Wild ass's colts. Job 11:12¹²For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt. (Job 11:12).
