It is of tremendous encouragement to each of us who belong to the Lord Jesus to know that He is with us. Saul was not a child of God, but he could see and know in his heart that the Lord was with David and not with him. The world should also be able to see by our faces, by our attitude, by our love and by our joy that the Lord is with us. There cannot be a worse witness than a miserable Christian. It’s not that we should be bubbly and laughing all the time. But just a quiet, happy, contented spirit can give witness to the fact that we are Christians.
