Ye also, as [living] stones, are built up . . . to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
To hear Christians sing sometimes I wonder if they are alive. But Peter tells us that we are living stones in God’s house. And we can all offer acceptable sacrifices to God. Notice that God doesn’t expect a sacrifice, like in the Old Testament, of a lamb or a dove. No, the physical sacrifice of Jesus on the cross ended the need for any more blood to be shed. Now God wants spiritual sacrifices. They that worship God “must worship Him in spirit and in truth.” Bring your spiritual offering today and let’s act like living members of the church.
