Do you like to sing? Birds are only one of the magnificent creatures made by our loving Creator. They fly long distances without eating or stopping, they swim and catch fish under water, some can run at 40 miles an hour, and the list goes on and on. Here is one fact that interested me lately. Evidently, birds do not have a larynx like humans. God has equipped the singing ones with a syrinx and guess where it is? Right next to their heart. God wants our vocal cords “near our hearts,” too: “Singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Eph.5:19). “Ye shall have a song” (Isa. 30:2929Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the Lord, to the mighty One of Israel. (Isaiah 30:29)).
